This is a really tasty chili sauce, full of flavor but not so hot that I can’t enjoy the taste of other food. As soon as I opened the five-ounce well-sealed glass bottle, the tantalizing scent made me want to pour it on my food.
The sauce has a nice consistency and includes seeds of the African bird’s eye chilli pepper. This Bird’s Eye Chilli Sauce is a delicious hot sauce well suited to almost any savory dish.
It is considerably hotter than other popular hot sauces, and definitely not as thick as other chili sauces, so you have to be careful not to put too much on! In small amounts, I can taste a pleasant, slightly sweet flavor through the heat.
A unique hot sauce that has a complex flavor delivering an awesome clean chili flavor, heat, while balancing a sweet and sour flavor. It is definitely hot—it burns the tongue and mouth but it only lasts a minute so it acts quickly and a little goes a long way.
It doesn’t”t matter if you are seeking heat or not this sauce will perk up a variety of bland foods with a single drop. Add a teaspoon to an omelet, potato salad, deviled eggs, soup, stews, barbecue and wing sauce, combined with ketchup for a French fry/onion ring dipping sauce, etc.
I actually really enjoyed this sauce with Asian noodles. The sauce has a hint of sweetness, with garlicky and peppery notes. I bet it would also be great with crab Rangoon or egg rolls. Yum!
“This isn’t a hot sauce that will burn your tongue off, nor is it a sauce for those looking for something mild. I’d describe the heat as medium to medium-hot. There is a bit of a burn, but not as much as expected. I thought be would a touch sweeter based on some comments, but I didn’t really experience that.
It is a good hot sauce with good heat and good flavor. 4 star rated.”
I love the flavor, thought it’s a bit spicy. When used sparingly it’s tolerable, but with such a good taste I tend to overdo it a bit and then regret it when the food is a bit too hot to enjoy… lol Recommended. If you’re like me and prefer less heat and more flavor, do check out the mild variety pack!
This one’s hot! In fact, it made me cough the first time I tried it, not expecting it to be so hot.
I still like it, but I have to use it in small quantities, so it reminds me more of a hot tabasco sauce. The numbers on the bottles are really helpful, and seem pretty accurate at a 7/10 on the heat scale. I do still like it, and the flavor, but it’s more of a sour, hot sauce that I’m using sparingly when something needs more heat.
WOW. HOT, but in a nice warm, glowing way. Not in a burn your lips and melt your tongue way! The ingredients are limited and all are something you can pronounce.
I loved the taste (hot, but so yummy), the viscosity…this is not a runny sauce. It is not as thick as ketchup but is definitely not as thin as most hot sauces and the bottle opening. This is not a squeeze top or drip top, this is a pour top!! Use a little, use a lot – I like that I can just pour it out

This sauce has a powerful heat to it, but the flavor is more complex making it suitable for a wide range of dishes.
The sauce contains many seeds which I consider a negative — I wish they ‘d either left the seeds out or pureed them before bottling.
This is, however, a very versatile sauce. It could be used to add some extra flavor and heat at the table, to a wide variety of dishes. I can see myself using it in soups, stews, or casseroles, or even as a marinade or a grill sauce for meat.
If you like hot sauces, I recommend you give this a try.
This Birds Eye Chilli Sauce is a hot one that’s unique as the bottle is loaded with the seeds. The difference between the Bird’s Eye and some of the other hotter options is that the heat goes away quickly. This is great on a slice of pizza.
Great quality birds eye chili hot sauce. This has a great flavor and a nice viscosity. What I love most, though, is the heat! I put hot sauce on everything so I’m always looking for something hotter but nothing crazy. This is perfect for me and is versatile, I put it on all sorts of dishes.
This is a good, fairly sweet hot sauce with a medium heat level. In the bottle it’s a bright orange, fairly thick; it improves after shaking. The flavor is a bright, sweet heat with just a touch of earthiness beneath the dominant but not too excessive sugar, and it has the up-front burn that’s characteristic of the bird’s eye pepper, without the same slow-building heat as others. It’s a nice choice for a everyday hot sauce, and tastes pretty great on almost anything bland.
This chili has a unique flavor and a consistent heat. Not a scorching heat. This is my go-to chili sauce. Try it, it is great.
If you are a hot sauce collector then I think you would love this one. I enjoyed the unique flavor and the little pop of seed here and there. What I love the most was the heat experience, although ghost peppers do have a special place in my heart, this bird’s eye chilli sauce had no lingering burn, it was immediate heat and then dissolved quite quickly. This means you can eat even more of the stuff!
This sauce is, honestly, like nothing I have ever tasted before. I thought I knew the Bird’s Eye Chili pepper but apparently, this African version is in another league! The perfect sauce to use on everything as the flavor isn’t overpowering just sweat-inducing so make sure to use it sparingly!
I received a 5 fl oz bottle of Bird’s Eye Chilli Sauce with a best by date of about 1.5 years from now. The heat level indicated on the bottle is 7 out of 10 and that seems to be accurate. I’m more of a medium heat level person, and this hot sauce is a tad overpowering for my taste buds. My husband can handle a higher heat level than me and he says you notice the heat but it isn’t overpowering. We are both in agreement there are too many seeds in the bottle. He puts hot sauce on most foods and would use this hot sauce on a regular basis if it didn’t have so many seeds. They are tiny seeds but still annoying as they get stuck in your teeth.

There are a lot of whole seeds so you get the additional texture and bursts of heat. I find this worth how they occasionally get stuck in my teeth.
I admit it, I am a hot sauce fantatic. I can barely eat any savory dish without adding some type of hot sauce to it. African Dream Foods’s Bird’s Eye Chilli Sauce is a delicious sauce that gives a pretty good kick. I can use it and get a nice burn. These Bird’s eye peppers are tasty with fruit overtones. The onion, sugar, garlic, salt and vinegar combine well with the hot peppers to provide balance as well as enhance the flavor.

This birds eye chili sauce has a lot of flavor to go along with the elevated heat from the peppers. I know I’ve had sauces made with birds eye chili peppers, but I couldn’t pick out the flavor profile if you didn’t tell me. The peppers almost come off neutral, or are are just covered up by the garlic and onion, but that’s not a bad thing. You get a strong heat up front with a well balanced savory flavor at the end. Perfect for pouring over pizza or fries, but could also be used for marinades and cooking as well.

This chili sauce has a wonderful naturally bright orange color with little chili seeds in it. It is a beautiful look. It comes in a glass bottle so it is kept very fresh.
I like to mix a little of this with strawberry jam for a really nice, homemade-like chutney.
I love this sauce. It has a wonderfully complex flavor and it’s that kind of hot sauce that you crave once you try it. Absolutely a 5-star product!
